How the Exchange Programme Works

Short placements leave little room for delay, so the timetable matters. We normally ask for eight to twelve weeks’ notice before the intended start date, though we will always try to help with shorter timescales where a school has availability.

  1. 01

    Enquiry and Consultation

Tell us your child’s age, year group, current English level and the dates you have in mind, and we will tell you plainly what is realistic within them.

We would rather set honest expectations at the outset than promise a placement we cannot deliver well.

  2. 02

    Programme Design and School Matching

We propose one or more suitable schools, with the subjects available, the accommodation options and a full breakdown of costs.

Where possible we arrange an online conversation between your family and the school before anything is confirmed.

Nothing is booked until you are satisfied that the school and the arrangements are right for your child.

  3. 03

    Confirmation and Paperwork

Once you confirm, we secure the place, issue the agreement and begin the formalities: the school’s invitation letter, visa guidance, insurance, medical and dietary information, and consent forms.

We handle the correspondence with the school so that you deal with one point of contact rather than several.

  4. 04

    Pre-Departure Briefing

Two to three weeks before departure we hold a briefing covering the school’s routine and rules, what to pack, phones and money, homestay etiquette, and who to call in an emergency.

Parents receive the same information in writing, together with the name of the guardian who will be looking after their child.

A child who knows what to expect settles far more quickly than one who does not.

  5. 05

Arrival, Induction and the Placement Itself

Your child is collected from the airport, settled into their accommodation and introduced at school on the first morning.

Throughout the placement we keep in contact with the school and the host family, check in with your child directly, and send you written updates.

Whatever comes up — illness, a difficult week, a change of plan — there is a named person in the UK dealing with it.

  6. 06

    Departure and Closing Report

We arrange the return transfer and, after the placement, send you a closing report: the school’s feedback, our own observations, and suggestions for what might come next.

Many families use the exchange as a trial run. If it leads to a longer stay, we are already on hand.

Every Journey Begins with a Conversation

Every child’s path is their own, and the right companionship can make the journey through British education a far more assured one.

Do get in touch and tell us about your child and what you hope for them, so that together we can find the support and companionship that suits them best.

It begins with one honest conversation — and a little more reassurance and support for your child’s time in Britain.
